Choosing the sliding door window treatments for your home can often be a difficult and stressful decision. Since you’re working with such an enormous window and door, conventional drapes or curtains appear to be the only real choice (although not the optimal one).
As sliding doors became more and more popular in homes, a new solution was called for. Vertical blinds were the perfect answer for both style and function. And their development continues; a convenient new feature in the operation of window blinds is a motorized track or lift to open and close not just vertical blinds but any window treatment.
While remote control blinds might at first seem to be too technical or complicated, they are actually quite simple to use. The mechanism for the blinds’ operation is built into a PC board. Then a motor-driven ball chain connected to a drive gear propels the chain forward and back as well as up and down. The arrival of the chain at its end triggers a micro-switch. Two relays control the motor which, at its being toggled off or on, moves the chain along the activation of the stop.
To operate this process, all that is required is a battery-powered handheld remote or wall switch. There is no need to tear into the walls and alter electrical wiring for the installation of the motorized mechanism. Not only is the system convenient for hard-to-reach windows and doors, but it allows privacy to be created or natural light let in from across the room with no more need to struggle with cords.
Sliding door blinds come in a variety of uses for different rooms. Bedroom window treatments can optimally block light entirely to create undisturbed rest. Family rooms are better suited by treatments that diffuse the light, transforming glaring light to a gentle glow without blocking illumination entirely. For energy efficiency, an innovative addition to the market uses a honeycomb-type cell.
